FEATURED: Catholic Prayer Clock

Our 12-inch Catholic Prayer wall clock features twelve images from famous religious artwork for each hour, plus a stunning imprint of the back of the Saint Benedict medal in the center of the clock.

The image shown at each hour has special prayer signifigance for that particular time. We encourage you to form your own daily prayer routine with the clock, but our recommended daily prayer schedule aides in the completion of at least one full rosary each day, plus many other devotions:

  • 1 | The Nativity (1 Decade of Daily Rosary)
  • 2 | Our Lady of Guadalupe (Pray for personal intentions)
  • 3 | Divine Mercy (Prayer: Divine Mercy chaplet)
  • 4 | The Blessed Mother with Jesus (1 Decade of Daily Rosary)
  • 5 | Guardian Angels (Prayer to My Guardian Angel)
  • 6 | The Annunciation (1 Decade of Daily Rosary)
  • 7 | St. Francis of Assisi (St. Francis Peace Prayer)
  • 8 | The Blessed Mother with Jesus (1 Decade of Daily Rosary)
  • 9 | The Crucifixion (Our Father or Crucifixion prayer)
  • 10 | The Crowning of Our Lady in Heaven (1 Decade of Daily Rosary)
  • 11 | St. Michael the Archangel (Prayer: St. Michael Prayer)
  • 12 | Immaculate Conception (Prayer: The Angelus)Catholic Clocks

You can also use the clock to guide you through a typical monastic prayer schedule, which is why the center design of the clock face is the back of the St. Benedict medal (St. Benedict essentially “wrote the book” on monastic life). This type of prayer schedule is usually based on the canonical hours, also called offices, since they refer to “official” prayers of the Church. These are known in North America as the Liturgy of the Hours.

The modern Liturgy of the Hours consists of three major hours, and two to four minor hours. The major hours include the Office of Readings (Matins), Morning Prayer (Lauds), and Evening Prayer (Vespers). Morning prayer is usually focused on praise, evening prayer on thanksgiving. To use our Prayer Clock alongside the Liturgy of the Hours, we recommend also downloading the Divine Office app available for iPhone and Android.

Common times for the Liturgy of the Hours prayer are as follows:

  • 5 AM – Lauds
  • 6 AM – Prime
  • 9 AM – Terce
  • Noon – Angelus + Sext
  • 6 PM – Vespers
  • 9 PM – Compline
  • 10 PM – Vigil
  • 12-2 am – Matins
