"See that you despise not one of these little ones: for I say to you that their angels in Heaven always see the Face of My Father, Who is in Heaven." —Matthew 18:10 Father Pascal Parente compiles in this little book nearly everything that is known with certainty about the angels. Drawing heavily from Tradition and Doctors and Fathers of the Church, Parente explains the angels' creation, intelligence, free will, language, powers, movements, number, and particular duties. He also relates the history of devotion to the holy angels and discloses such little-known facts as that there are guardian angels not only of individuals, but also of churches, dioceses, and nations! In a world that is increasingly curious about spiritual beings and at the same time skeptical about the existence and power of those beings, The Angels: In Catholic Teaching and Tradition is a crucial tool for distinguishing the true from the false and the known from the unknown. It is a sure guide through the unseen and holy world of the angelic spirits—a book that truly instructs and inspires us to live in the presence of the Holy Angels!

Padre Pio died on September 23, 1968, his funeral attended by over 100,000 people. During the fifty-eight years he was a priest, his monastery at San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, became a mecca for pilgrims from all over the world. Born Francesco Forgione on May 25, 1887 in the town of Pietrelcina in southeastern Italy, Padre Pio joined the Capuchin Order in 1903 and was ordained in 1910. On September 20, 1918 he received the sacred wounds of Christ, the stigmata, which he bore the rest of his life. Renowned for the stigmata, which modern medical science could not explain, Padre Pio also possessed other unusual qualities, such as bilocation, celestial perfume, reading of hearts, miraculous cures, remarkable conversions, and prophetic insight. Although he did not leave his monastery and was under obedience not to write or preach, this humble Capuchin monk became world famous for his piety, his counsel, and his miracles. He was universally regarded as a saint in his own time. Pope John Paul II beatified Padre Pio of Pietrelcina on Sunday, May 2, 1999 in St. Peter's Basilica Square before a throng of 650,000 devotees of this famed 20th-century stigmatist. His faithful followers now look forward with anticipation to his canonization. "Remember that God is within us when we are in His grace, and outside of us when we are in sin." -Padre Pio

A 9-Day Novena to Mother Teresa, Saint of the Gutters What can we learn from the Saint of the Gutters? How might her wisdom and intercession help us in our present needs? After all, Mother Teresa was very small in stature, even frail in some respects, and she was a woman—the supposed “weaker sex.” However, this petite woman’s “yes” to God truly changed the world forever. She opened the world’s eyes to our duties to feed the hungry and clothe the naked, and told us that a far worse hunger exists in our Western world. She continues to encourage us to reach out in love to those in need. Through this novena of prayer, our faith is energized as we "sit at St. Teresa of Calcutta’s feet” to learn lessons of love, and invoke her intercession for our urge Format: Paperback Trim size: 4 x 7 inches Pages: 64. Benedictine monastic spirituality has emerged as an antidote to the spiritual and cultural challenges facing people of faith today. In this book, the author focuses specifically on GRACE, and the benevolence of God as it expresses itself in many different ways along our spiritual journey. What is a person likely to experience when beginning to give up him or herself conscientiously to the spiritual journey? In this beautiful guide, gradually, we come to realize that everything that happens in our lives is somehow the gift of our loving Father. Every journey is ultimately individual. As Casey explains, what you hear within your own spirit is more significant than what he can say. But his aim is to help you listen to the voice of God in your heart. Format: Paperback Trim size: 5.5 x 8.5 inches Weight: 8.8 ounces. Pages: 240

By Carlen MadduxJust days after turning fifty, Martha Maddux, a spirited mother and civic activist, was told she had Alzheimer's disease. She and husband Carlen felt as though they'd been shoved out of a plane 10,000 feet up, withnothing to grab but themselves. A Path Revealed is not about the falloutfrom an insidious disease that extended over seventeen years. It is the story of a path of hope emerging during the darkest hours - a path that lifted Carlen and Martha above the devastating symptoms of this disease. Carlen traveled with Martha to the backwoods of Kentucky, where the quiet presence of a Catholic nun revealed a hidden path. He was forced to slow down as he traced this path halfway around the world to Australia, retreated weekends to a monastery, embraced meditation, and landed all alone in Thomas Merton's cabin. This story conveys a message of hope and joy in the midst of an almost overwhelming tragedy. SKU: 46517

By Jay Stoeckl This graphic novel illustrates the life of St. Nicholas from his beginnings as a young priest in Asia Minor in the late 3rd Century until just before his death in the mid 4th Century. As with St. Francis and Brother Duck this story needed a "set up character" for which the wisdom and early Christian teachings as shown in Nicholas' life can be revealed through dialogue. This secondary protagonist is a Greek-attired mouse named Cicero who is dressed to look like a little philosopher. His personality follows this image as well as his name as this philosophical critter questions much of Nicholas' Christian acts until the mouse's conversion late in the story. Unlike the childlike personality of Br. Duck, the non-Christian Cicero will have an educated intelligence and wit that will act in playful fashion when placed against Nicholas' gifted wisdom. .
