The Vintage Yellow Bronze Our Lady of Guadalupe Rosary Center is an open ring set with four full-blown roses at the cardinal points, and in the oval at its heart a small standing figure: a veiled woman with her hands joined at her breast, her mantle falling in long folds, framed by a mandorla of rays.
The rays and the joined hands are the fixed elements of the image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, left on the tilma of St. Juan Diego at Tepeyac in 1531 and venerated across the Americas ever since. The four roses answer the roses of that story, the Castilian flowers she told him to gather out of season on a December hillside and carry in his cloak to the bishop. The warm yellow bronze suits the subject, and the roses take the hand-finishing particularly well.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
