The Vintage Bronze Sacred Heart Scapular Medal shows Christ in half length with a rayed halo, drawing back his robe to reveal the Sacred Heart crowned with thorns. On the reverse, Our Lady of Mount Carmel, crowned and veiled, holds the Christ Child who leans toward her, and each of them holds out a scapular.
Both faces are lettered in Latin. Around Christ runs EN IPSVM COR TANTA IN HOMINES CARITATE FLAGRANS, behold the very Heart burning with such great love for mankind. Around his Mother, MATER ET DECOR CARMELI, Mother and glory of Carmel. Paired this way, the images and their legends make the scapular medal of the later nineteenth century, worn by those enrolled in the brown scapular in place of the cloth and carrying the same promises with it.
The Sacred Heart Scapular Medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
