The Vintage Yellow Bronze Gloria Deo Nativity Medal holds the whole Nativity in a gabled plaque no bigger than a thumbnail. The newborn Christ lies on straw at the foot while an angel bends low over him with wings drawn back, and a star breaks overhead, its rays streaming down the length of the arch.
A raised banner across the foot is lettered GLORIA DEO, Glory to God, the opening of the song the angels sang over the fields at Bethlehem. The reverse carries a Jerusalem cross, the broad cross with a small crosslet in each of its four quarters, worn for centuries by those who made the journey to the Holy Land. The original is French, and the warm color of the yellow bronze suits a scene lit from above.
The Nativity medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
