The Vintage Bronze St. Michael the Archangel Rosary Center places the defender of the Church at the join of the decades. Michael stands winged in a short tunic and cuirass, sword raised behind his shoulder and shield on his arm, one foot set on a dragon whose head turns back beneath him. The ground between the wings and the dragon is pierced through, so the figure reads clearly at a small size.
The sword and the dragon come from the Apocalypse, where Michael leads the angels against the dragon and casts him down. He is the guardian of the Church and the escort of souls, and Catholics still close the rosary with the prayer that asks him to defend us in battle.
