Saint Michael fills the Vintage Bronze St. Michael the Archangel Medal with Scales: winged and armored at the shoulder, a sword raised in his right hand and a balance held out in his left, standing squarely on the dragon that twists and writhes beneath his feet. Around the rim, unbroken from edge to edge, runs the invocation SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL DEFEND US IN BATTLE.
The two attributes tell the whole of his office. The sword belongs to the warrior who cast down the enemy at the beginning, and the scales to the weigher of souls, the archangel who measures each life at its end. The words around him open the prayer to Saint Michael said for protection in every kind of struggle, spiritual, physical and plain daily.
