The St. Joan of Arc Rosary Center is Art Nouveau through and through. Sprays of lily of the valley arch across the top on curving stems, and a broad ribbon sweeps around beneath them, its folds forming the whole lower half of the frame. Set into the middle is a round medallion holding the saint in profile bust, a spray of leaves behind her head.
A legend curves down the field beside her: STE JEANNE D'ARC, with the dates 1412-1431 below it, Saint Joan of Arc and the years of her short life. She was nineteen when she died at Rouen and was canonized nearly five centuries later, in 1920, and French devotional jewelry of that moment took exactly this flowing floral form. The dates belong to the saint rather than to the piece.
The St. Joan of Arc rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
