The Vintage Bronze St. Cecilia Medal is cut to a cusped outline of points and lobes and worked on both faces. The front shows St. Cecilia haloed and seated at a small pipe organ, a harp standing behind her shoulder, a lit candle at her right and sheet music open across her lap — an unusually full scene for a piece this size, with the instruments of her patronage all present at once.
The reverse carries a five-line Latin invocation beneath a small star, a spray of flowers cast below it: SANCTA CAECILIA PATRONA MUSICAE SACRAE. ORA PRO NOBIS. — “Saint Cecilia, patroness of sacred music, pray for us.” The Roman martyr who sang in her heart to God on her wedding day has been the patroness of musicians ever since, which makes this a natural piece for a choir member, an organist, or anyone whose prayer is bound up with singing.
The medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
