The Vintage Bronze Sacred Heart and Crown of Thorns Center has real sculptural depth for its three quarters of an inch. On the front a heart rises from the shield-shaped body with a flame at its crown, and a thick crown of thorns is looped around it in openwork, the branches standing clear of the ground so that light passes behind them.
The thorns and the flame together name it: the Sacred Heart of Jesus, love that burns and is wounded at once. Turn the piece over and the reverse carries the letter M beneath a cross, ringed with small stars, exactly the device on the back of the Miraculous Medal. The two faces set the Heart of the Son and the initial of his Mother back to back, which is the whole logic of the Rosary in a single small casting: everything asked of him is asked through her.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the piece's vintage character.
