The Vintage Bronze Rayed Madonna Rosary Center with Calvary carries a devotion on each of its faces. The first holds the bust of Our Lady veiled, her eyes lowered and her hands crossed at her breast, with long rays streaming out behind her to fill the field — the attitude in which she is shown in her sorrow. The modelling is deep and the face very finely cut.
Turn it and a calvary stands on the reverse: a cross raised on a stepped pedestal between two tall shafts, with rays behind it, the way a wayside calvary rises at a crossroads or in the court of a shrine. The mother and the cross together make a fitting joint for the decades, holding the sorrowful mysteries in view as the beads pass through the fingers.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
