The Vintage Bronze Our Lady of Mount Carmel Medal sets a deep central field inside a broad wreath border of leaf sprays with four flower rosettes at the quarters. Within it the crowned Virgin holds the crowned Child on her left arm, both figures turned outward toward the wearer, a small cloth held out below them. The relief is generous and the modelling soft, in the manner of a nineteenth-century devotional medal.
That small cloth is the brown scapular, and it is what names the scene. In Carmelite tradition Our Lady gave it to St. Simon Stock as a sign of her protection, and it has been among the most widely worn devotions in the Church ever since — her habit in miniature, promised to those who wear it and live by what it asks.
The medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
