The Vintage Bronze Our Lady of Lourdes Rosary Center holds the whole apparition in a small compass: the Virgin standing in her niche in the rock, the ledge and folded stone of the grotto around her, and the kneeling girl below at the left with her hands raised. The reverse turns to a bust of the Virgin, veiled, her hands joined, under a tall spiked crown.
The girl is Bernadette Soubirous, fourteen years old and gathering firewood at Massabielle in 1858 when the lady appeared to her in the rock and at last gave her name: I am the Immaculate Conception. Set where the decades of a rosary meet, the two faces work together, the place of the apparition on one side and on the other the crowned Virgin honored there ever since by the millions who go down to the spring.
The Our Lady of Lourdes rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
