The Vintage Bronze Little Roses Crucifix is a gentle thing. Instead of sharp Gothic points the four arms end in soft rounded paddles, and each one carries a single small rose stamped in low relief. The corpus is shallow and slight, so the flowers hold their own against the figure and give the whole piece an almost domestic warmth.
Roses have long stood beside the cross in Catholic devotion, for the Rosary, which takes its name from a garland of them, for the martyrs who were said to bloom where they fell, and for the sweetness the Church has always found in the middle of the Passion. There is no lettering here; the roses do the speaking. Its small size and its mildness make it a natural first crucifix for a child, a godchild, or anyone beginning to pray the rosary.
The crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
