At an inch and a quarter, the Vintage Bronze Large Crowned Sacred Heart Center is a substantial piece for a rosary, and its strength comes from restraint. The heart is domed and left almost entirely plain, so that the whole surface takes the light in one long sweep. A small crown with rounded points is laid across it near the top, and a spray of flame rises from the crest, cut in a few confident strokes.
The crowned and flaming heart is the Sacred Heart in its boldest folk form, an image that travelled from Europe into the devotional metalwork of Latin America and came back simplified, reduced to fire and sovereignty. The crown says who reigns; the flame says how. Nothing is lettered, and nothing needs to be. It has the weight and the plainness of an object made to be handled every day.
This crowned Sacred Heart center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
