The Vintage Bronze Cloaked Madonna and Calvary Medal carries a different scene on each face. On one, a standing figure whose mantle falls in a stiff cone to the ground, with two crowned heads emerging at the top, one full-sized and one small. This is how dressed shrine statues of the Virgin and Child have been shown for centuries, robed in a single cone of cloth so that only the two faces and their crowns appear.
The other face is a Calvary: three crosses on a rocky mount with mourning figures gathered at the foot. Together they hold the two poles of Catholic devotion, the Mother clothed and crowned at her shrine, and the hill where she stood at the end of it all. The relief is deep and the surfaces are worn soft, exactly as they stand on the antique original.
The Cloaked Madonna and Calvary medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
