The Vintage Bronze Classic Thistle Rosary Center rests on a single plant. A thistle stands in full bloom on a small shield-shaped plate, the round spiny head at the top, two long serrated leaves curving out to fill the shoulders. There is no figure and no lettering. The design is deeply cut and carefully modeled, so the antiquing gathers in the spines and gives the flower its texture.
The thistle is an old emblem of endurance and of suffering borne well, a flower that keeps its beauty in hard ground and blooms purple out of its own thorns.
