The Vintage Bronze Child Jesus and Guardian Angel Medal is a round French piece worked on both faces. The front sets the Child Jesus standing haloed within a pointed oval, one hand reaching out in blessing, on a ground powdered with tiny fleurs-de-lis and flanked by roses. The reverse turns to the guardian angel: a winged figure walking beside a small child, a hand raised as if pointing the way ahead.
Around the front runs CONGREGATION DE L'ENFANT JESUS — Congregation of the Child Jesus. Medals of this kind were given by teaching congregations to the children in their care, which explains the pairing exactly: the Holy Child on one side, and on the other the angel who walks beside a child and does not leave. For a French schoolchild it was both a prize and a promise, and it is still a natural gift at a baptism or a first Communion.
The Child Jesus medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
