The Vintage Bronze Shamrock Rosary Center is built from shamrock leaves. Two trefoils spread across the lower half, a third rises at the top, a slender cross stands at the middle of the openwork, and scrolls fill the spaces to either side. Because the piece is cut clean through, the design reads the same from both faces.
The shamrock has carried the Trinity in Irish devotion for centuries, three leaves on one stem, a lesson taught in a field to people who could not read it in a book. Set at the join of a rosary it puts that teaching at the point where the beads gather and the prayer turns back on itself, and the cross at the heart of the openwork keeps the Passion in view alongside it. At three-quarters of an inch it is scaled for a working rosary rather than for display.
The shamrock rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
