The Vintage Bronze Open Standing Madonna Rosary Center is almost nothing but the figure herself. The Blessed Virgin stands full-length on a small rounded base, haloed, her head veiled and her hands drawn together at the breast, and above her a single thin arched bar sweeps across the width of the piece, tipped at each end with a small curl. Everything else is open air.
Nothing frames her and no ornament competes with her. A center built this openly is the work of a confident modeller, since a standing figure carried on so little metal leaves nowhere to hide a fault, and the small variations from one casting to the next, in the fall of the veil and the set of the shoulders, are part of what makes each one its own. Mary stands as she stands in prayer: attentive, unhurried, waiting.
The standing Madonna center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the piece's vintage character.
