The Vintage Bronze Madonna and Holy Face Rosary Center gives a portrait to each of its faces. One side holds the Virgin in profile, veiled, her head slightly bowed and her eyes lowered, modeled in clean raised relief. The other holds the Holy Face: the head of Christ in profile, haloed and crowned with thorns, set down into a sunken oval so the figure rests in shadow. Turned in the hand, the two profiles answer one another, the Mother who said yes and the Son who carried it through.
Devotion to the Holy Face grew out of the Veronica cloth and the Shroud, and it has always been a prayer of reparation, offered for a world that would rather look away. Below the face of Christ the word STERLING stands raised in the metal, the silver mark of the workshop that made the antique original, carried over faithfully when the mold was taken. Collectors of old devotional metal will know it on sight.
This rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the piece's vintage character.
