The Vintage Bronze Heart and Cross Rosary Center is a heart pierced through and filled with leaf and scroll ornament, with a Latin cross laid across the middle of it. The cross is hatched all over in a fine woven pattern and carries a small rosette where the arms meet, and the point of the heart is drawn out below into an open horseshoe curve.
Heart and cross set together make one of the plainest statements Catholic ornament knows how to make: love, and the price of it. Nothing is lettered anywhere on the piece, and the two shapes do all the work between them. At five eighths of an inch it is a small center, but the piercing keeps it light and lets the beads show through, so it suits a rosary that wants an old hand-cut look rather than a machined one.
