The Vintage Bronze St. Dominic and Queen of the Holy Rosary Medal shows the saint half-length in the habit of his order, tonsured and haloed, a lily stem rising in one hand and a rosary running through the fingers of the other. Around him runs STE DOMINICE ORA P NOBIS, Saint Dominic, pray for us. The lily is his purity, and the rosary the devotion the Dominicans have carried and preached for eight centuries.
On the reverse the Virgin sits crowned on cloud with the haloed Christ Child on her knee, cherub heads gathered beneath, ringed by REGINA SACRI ROSARII O.P.N., Queen of the Most Holy Rosary, pray for us. The abbreviation stands for ora pro nobis, so the same petition is made twice over, once to the founder and once to the Queen. A well-matched pair of faces for anyone who prays the rosary daily.
