On the Vintage Yellow Bronze Mary, Queen of the Flowers Medal, Our Lady stands with her arms lowered and open, veiled and lightly crowned, and the field around her is scattered with eight small open blossoms, as though flowers were falling through the air.
The reverse explains them. Around a plain cross with a small heart beneath it runs the legend VIRGEN MARIA REINA DE LAS FLORES, Virgin Mary, Queen of the Flowers, the Spanish title honored in May, when children bring flowers to her altar and crown her image with them. The lettering is raised and completely legible, and the warm tone of the yellow bronze suits a devotion built on blossom and springtime. The two faces together make one of the most charming pieces in this group, as fitting for a May crowning or a first Communion as for daily wear.
