The Vintage White Bronze Miraculous Medal in a Scalloped Frame gives the best known of all Marian medals an unusually ornate setting, the oval field ringed by scrolled edges that swell out at the sides and gather into a shell at the foot. Our Lady stands at the center with her arms lowered and open, the attitude in which she was seen at the Rue du Bac in Paris in 1830.
The reverse carries the traditional device: the letter M crossed by a bar and surmounted by a cross, the two hearts of Jesus and Mary beneath, and twelve stars set around the field. St. Catherine Labouré was shown the design in vision and told to have it struck; those who wore it began at once to report graces, and within a few years people were calling it simply the Miraculous Medal. It remains the most widely worn Marian medal in the Church.
This medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
