The Vintage Bronze Two-Sided Openwork Oval Rosary Center gives a whole figure to each of its faces. Within the open oval a veiled and haloed figure stands with hands joined at the breast, the robe falling in long still folds to the base, and the reverse repeats that same attitude of prayer so the piece reads alike from either side.
The two faces are Jesus and his Mother, the pairing rosary centers have long used so that the beads turn between the Son and the Mother who always points toward him. Both are modelled in the same slender gothic-revival manner, and that deliberate evenness is much of the design's appeal: two devotions given the same form, the same scale and the same stillness. It suits anyone who prays the rosary as a walk taken in their company.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
