A very small cross, five-eighths of an inch long, reproduced from an African original. The arms flare from a narrow waist into broad, gently splayed ends, and the upper arm carries a raised triangular collar, so the outline sits closer to a cross pattée than to the Latin form. The surface keeps the soft, slightly irregular modeling of the original wax, which is what gives a piece this small its weight in the hand.
