The Vintage Sterling Silver Miraculous Medal Cross sets an oval of Our Lady of Grace at the center of a cross with fanned, pierced arms, her hands lowered and rays falling from them. The reverse carries the Miraculous Medal device: the letter M surmounted by a cross, twelve stars around it, and the two hearts of Jesus and Mary below.
The design was shown to Saint Catherine Laboure in the rue du Bac in Paris in 1830, with the promise that those who wore it would receive great graces. The rays falling from Our Lady's hands are those graces, poured out on everyone who asks for them, and the twelve stars are the crown of the woman in the Apocalypse. Recast here in the shape of a cross rather than the familiar oval, the devotion is kept whole, front and back, in sterling silver.
The Miraculous Medal cross was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
