The Vintage Bronze Garden of Eden Marriage Medal shows two robed figures standing among trees and turned toward one another, the one at the left reaching a hand across to the other. The reverse carries an entwined monogram of two initials over a spray of lilies.
Around that monogram runs the date 9 OCTOBRE 1928, 9 October 1928, carried on the French original and joined there to the couple's initials. Medals of this kind were made to mark a marriage and kept afterward as a keepsake, the garden scene setting the day in the oldest story the Church tells about husband and wife: two people placed in a garden and given to each other. The lilies beneath the monogram are for purity, and the date holds one particular October morning fixed in bronze.
