The Vintage Bronze 4-Way Medal with Crucifix carries a crucifix in high relief down the full height of a pointed oval, with the field around it divided into four small panels. One holds a standing Virgin with rays falling from her open hands; others hold figures with children. Four devotions and the cross are gathered onto a single medal no larger than a thumbnail.
The reverse is flat and lettered I AM A CATHOLIC, PLEASE CALL A PRIEST, set among a Sacred Heart, a descending dove, and the crossed M and stars of the Miraculous Medal. Medals worded this way have been worn since the early twentieth century for one plain reason: so that a stranger finding the wearer unable to speak would know to send for the sacraments. It is a devotional piece and a practical one at once.
This medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
