The Vintage Yellow Bronze Tiny Star-Shaped Miraculous Medal is the great Marian medal reduced to five-eighths of an inch and cut as an eight-pointed star. The Virgin stands on the globe with her hands lowered and open, rays falling from them into the scalloped field, and the reverse carries the M surmounted by a cross above two small hearts.
That design was given to St. Catherine Laboure in the Rue du Bac in Paris in 1830, and medals made from it spread so quickly, with so many answered prayers behind them, that people simply began calling it miraculous. The two hearts below the monogram are those of Jesus and Mary. Nothing is lettered on either face, which keeps the little piece very quiet, and at this size it is a favorite for a child.
The star-shaped Miraculous Medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
