The Vintage White Bronze St. Rita Medal with Shrine Church carries the saint in a cool silver-toned metal. A veiled woman stands crowned with a rayed halo beneath a crucifix, her head inclined as the light falls on her brow, and roses and small fruit are gathered at her feet.
Those are the marks by which St. Rita of Cascia is known: the wound she carried on her forehead from a thorn of the crucifix she prayed before, and the roses and figs brought to her from her family's garden in the dead of her last winter. Married unhappily, widowed by violence and an Augustinian nun afterward, she is asked for help in hard marriages and in situations that look closed for good. The reverse holds a sunken roundel with the long church and tall spire of her shrine at Cascia, and the pale finish sets both faces off crisply.
