Product Details

The Miraculous Medal, reduced to five-eighths of an inch and cut as an eight-pointed star. The front shows the Virgin standing on the globe with her hands lowered and open, rays falling from them into the scalloped field; the reverse carries the letter M surmounted by a cross with two small hearts below.

The image was given to St. Catherine Laboure in the chapel on the Rue du Bac in Paris in 1830, with the promise that graces would come to those who wore it. Medals made from it spread so quickly, and with such results, that people simply began calling it the miraculous one. The rays are the graces Mary said were being poured out on everyone who asked; the two hearts on the reverse are the Sacred Heart crowned with thorns and the Immaculate Heart pierced by a sword. At this size the whole devotion sits quietly against the skin, which is why so small a star is often chosen for a child.

This tiny star-shaped Miraculous Medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.

  • Made in the USA
  • Artisan-cast from an antique original
  • Finished by hand, so every piece is subtly unique.
  • Buy the medal alone, or add an optional chain or cord necklace
  • Add a cord or chain to have it arrive assembled and ready to wear
  • Arrives in a deluxe velour jewelry box
