The Vintage Bronze Three Magi and Our Lady of Travelers Medal is a medal for people on the road. The front sets the three Magi shoulder to shoulder beneath a rayed star, crowned and carrying their gifts, one swinging a censer and another a hanging lamp. The reverse shows the Virgin standing with her arms lowered and open, rays falling from her hands, a crescent and stars about her.
Each face carries its own invocation in French. Around the Magi runs S.S. ROIS MAGES PRIEZ POUR NOUS, Holy Magi Kings, pray for us; around the Virgin, NOTRE DAME DES VOYAGEURS P.P.N., Our Lady of Travelers, pray for us. The pairing is deliberate. The Magi were the first travelers to follow a sign across strange country, and both prayers ask the same thing: protection on the journey and a safe arrival at the end of it. A fitting piece for a driver, a pilgrim, or anyone a long way from home.
