The Vintage Bronze St. Gabriel the Archangel Figural Medal is cut out in silhouette rather than struck on a disc, and the effect is almost graphic. The face is framed by a deep hood that doubles as a halo, the wings are broad ribbed panels, the robe falls in plain vertical folds to bare feet, and one arm reaches forward with the hand open, the gesture of a messenger delivering his word.
St. Gabriel is the announcing angel, sent to Daniel, to Zechariah in the sanctuary, and to Mary at Nazareth with the greeting that opens the Hail Mary and the news that changed the world.
