The Vintage Bronze St. Francis Blessing Medal is six-sided, with Francis shown in profile in the Franciscan habit, tonsured and haloed, his hands drawn to his breast against a field of fine radiating lines set with small crosses. His name, FRANCISCVS, runs down the edge beside him, and the reverse is filled with lettering, a Tau cross rising from a rocky base at the foot.
The text is Italian, and it is the blessing Francis wrote out for Brother Leo: Il Signore ti benedica e custodisca, may the Lord bless you and keep you, may he show you his face and have mercy on you, may he turn his gaze toward you and give you peace. The Tau was the saint's own signature, and it closes the prayer here as it closed the parchment he handed his friend.
The St. Francis medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
