The Vintage Bronze Scrolled Trinity Crucifix finishes each of its four arms in a pair of scrolls that curl back on themselves to make an open trefoil, with a small leaf ornament held at the center of each. A fluted band runs down the shaft between them, and the corpus hangs at the crossing beneath a small floral boss.
The three-lobed end is old shorthand for the Trinity, three in one, and here it is repeated at every arm so the whole cross says the same thing four times over. The openwork keeps a substantial crucifix light in the hand and lets the trefoils read clearly at a distance. Nothing on it is lettered, which is part of its appeal: the shape alone does the teaching, in the way European devotional metalwork has always preferred.
The crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the crucifix's vintage character.
