The Vintage Bronze Saint Teresa of Avila Rosary Center comes from the same antique original as the Saint Teresa medal, cast a little larger for the center of a full rosary. A veiled nun in a heavy habit stands half-length, turned to one side, an open book laid at her side, all against a rough granulated ground that sets off the smooth planes of her habit.
Around the upper rim runs the Latin legend SANCTA TERESA, Saint Teresa. Teresa of Avila carried the reform of the Carmelites across sixteenth-century Spain and left writings on prayer, above all the Interior Castle, that are still read as guides rather than as relics. She taught that prayer is nothing but friendship with God, kept up in bad weather as much as in good. A center bearing her name suits a rosary meant for serious daily use, which is the only kind she would have recognized.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
