The Vintage Bronze Praying Madonna Rosary Center holds the Virgin at half length within a raised border of scrollwork and small flowers. She is veiled, her head inclined a little, her hands joined before her. The modelling is restrained, a few folds of the veil and the line of the shoulders doing most of the work, and that is what gives the piece its stillness.
An image of Mary at prayer is the natural heart of a rosary, since the whole devotion is an act of praying beside her, mystery by mystery, in the words the angel and Elizabeth first said to her. There is no lettering here and no shrine attribute, only the Virgin in prayer, which has always been enough. At the center of a five-decade rosary it gives the hand something quiet to come back to as the decades turn.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
