The Vintage Bronze Our Lady of Guadalupe Medal carries a bust of the Virgin, veiled, her hands joined and her eyes lowered, against a wide burst of straight rays. Around the upper rim runs NTRA. SRA. DE GUADALUPE — Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Guadalupe is the image left on Juan Diego's tilma at Tepeyac in 1531, and she is the patroness of Mexico and of all the Americas. The antique original was much worn before it was cast, and the workshop kept every bit of that: the face and hands are softened, the rays run faint in places, and the surface has the smoothed look of a medal carried for years in a pocket. That softness is reproduced on purpose, so each one arrives with a devotional life already written into its face.
The Our Lady of Guadalupe medal was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's vintage character.
