This medal is cut to the silhouette of a statue rather than to a circle. The Madonna stands crowned with the crowned Child on her arm, both haloed, a tall arched crown above her head and a burst of rays behind it, her robe spreading into the wide bell-shaped skirt of a dressed shrine image. A flowering branch rises in her right hand, and the ornament of the mantle is worked in fine, close relief.
