St. John Chrysostom was a Greek bishop and preacher, "Golden-Mouthed," Antiochene priest, archbishop of Constantinople from 397; deposed and exiled twice by the empress Eudoxia for his moral preaching, died on the journey to a more remote exile on the Black Sea.
