The Vintage Yellow Bronze Trinity Crucifix holds all three Persons in a single shape. The crossbar is not a bar at all but a pair of wings spread wide from the shaft, the sign of the Spirit; above them, at the top of the upright, is the bearded, haloed head of the Father; and below hangs the corpus of the Son, his arms following the line of the wings out to their open, upturned tips.
Compositions like this are old in European metalwork, where the Throne of Mercy gathered Father, Spirit and crucified Son into one image that could be read at a glance. Here the idea is pared back to something very spare, with no lettering and no ornament competing for attention, and the warm yellow bronze keeps every part of it legible at a small size.
The crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
