The Vintage Yellow Bronze Oh Holy Ghost Protect Me Cross is built entirely from light. A dove descends with wings spread at the center, and the four arms are cut into sharp overlapping rays, so that the outline of the piece is itself the burst of radiance around the Spirit. Nothing else is allowed onto the face.
The reverse is plain ground for two lines of raised lettering, OH HOLY GHOST PROTECT ME, with a slender stalk rising above the words and another falling below them. It is a short prayer of the kind people carried for daily use, direct and unadorned, and it reads clearly on the casting. The Holy Ghost is asked here for the plainest of his gifts, protection, and the dove is the sign given at the Jordan and repeated at every Confirmation since.
