The Vintage Yellow Bronze Guardian Angel with Children Ornament fills its arched plaque with a summer afternoon. An angel stands with both arms spread wide, wings reaching the top of the arch, above two children entirely absorbed in a garden: a girl kneels at the left gathering flowers into her apron, a boy stands at the right reaching up into a branch. Flowering plants and rocks are worked across the whole foreground.
Neither child looks up, which is precisely the point of the image. The guardian angel keeps watch while the children play, unseen and unthanked, and the whole devotion rests on that quiet arrangement, a companion assigned before we knew to ask for one.
