The Vintage White Bronze Edwardian Scrollwork Rosary Center is shaped like a small cartouche or shield. Deep scroll and acanthus work frames it on every side, a fluted shell rises at the top, and a scrolled foot finishes it below, so the ornament does all the work a figure would do without being one. The contrast between the dark carved frame and the bright field is the whole design.
The panel at the middle is left completely smooth and unlettered. Centers were often cast this way so that an engraver could add initials or a date afterwards, which is why they turn up so frequently on rosaries made for a particular person and a particular day. That makes this one a natural choice for a rosary assembled as a gift, whether for a confirmation, a wedding anniversary, or a name day, and it can equally be left plain and simply worn.
The rosary center was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the piece's vintage character.
