The Vintage White Bronze Double Nimbus Crucifix takes its name from what sits behind the head of the corpus: a round disc, and around that a wider burst of cut rays, two haloes one inside the other, drawing the eye straight to the face. Fleur-de-lis terminals close all four arms, and the chamfered faces catch light along their edges.
The doubled halo is an old way of saying two things at once, the disc standing for the person and the rays for the glory pouring off him, so that even at the moment of death the figure is shown already shining. White bronze suits the idea, keeping a cool silver tone that makes the cut rays read sharply against the darker recesses. At this size the crucifix has real presence, whether it finishes a substantial rosary or hangs on its own.
The crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
