The Vintage White Bronze Agnus Dei Medal carries the Lamb of God on the front, standing beside a slender cross-staff, with a domed host raised in the field above like a small sun. The ground is finely stippled, so the smooth Lamb and host stand clear of it.
The lettering reads PRO . MUNDI . VITA, for the life of the world, the words Christ uses of the bread he gives. The reverse names the occasion exactly: EUCHARISTISCHER WELTKONGRESS . MUNCHEN 1960, the Eucharistic World Congress held in Munich in 1960, with the twin onion domes of the Frauenkirche rising above a crowd of tiny figures. That week drew hundreds of thousands of pilgrims to the city for Masses and processions in the open air, and this was the token they carried home. The date belongs to the original from which the piece is cast.
The Agnus Dei medal was faithfully reproduced from a vintage original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves the medal's period character.
