The Vintage Bronze Victorian Heart Rosary Center is a generous piece, an inch and a quarter across, built as a broad triangle filled edge to edge with fine pierced lattice. Set at the middle of it is a smooth raised heart, left plain and polished so it stands clear of everything around it. The shoulders are scrolled and edged with rows of small beads, and a scrolled drop finishes the foot.
A heart at the center of a rosary is an old and natural pairing. Read it as the Sacred Heart of Jesus, pierced and burning; read it as the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which kept all these things and pondered them; or read it as the heart of the one praying, which is what the Rosary is meant to work on.
