The Vintage Bronze Trinity Crucifix holds all three Persons in a single shape. The crossbar is a pair of wings spread wide from the shaft, the sign of the Holy Spirit; above them at the top of the upright is the bearded, haloed head of the Father; and below hangs the corpus of the Son, his arms following the line of the wings out to their open, upturned tips.
This is the Throne of Mercy, an image old in European devotion, in which the Father receives the offering of the Son while the Spirit rests between them. It gathers the whole mystery into one small object: the love that gives, the love that is given, and the love shared between the two. Here it is reduced to something very spare and readable at small scale, with no lettering and no ornament competing for attention, and at an inch and a quarter it sits comfortably at the join of a rosary.
The Trinity crucifix was faithfully reproduced from an antique original and cast in the USA using a traditional fine-detail casting process that preserves its vintage character.
